This Past Sunday

OK -- first of all, I'm still in shock that Little Miss Muffet was eating cottage cheese! : ) (Curds and whey!) : ) I didn't know that curds and whey is what cottage cheese is! : ) Ha ha!

Alright -- Yesterday, I played the piano in Church for the Choir.

I am SOoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo glad that it's over with!

SO glad!

Two of the three songs that they sung were VERY challenging to learn! "Why?" you ask?!!! Because there were TONS of ridiculous, un-necessary notes, and accidentals, AND there were several KEY changes!!!! THAT's why!

WHAT is up with THAT?!

BUT -- with a little bit of practice (OK -- at least 2 hours a day, for several days in a row...), lots of prayer, and with God's help yesterday, it went well. I think I did a pretty good job.

I wish I could have been in the congregation, listening to how it all sounded. : ) But hopefully it was beautiful.

(I DID like the songs. One of them included some of "O Holy Night". It's the accompaniment that I could have done without!!!) : )

I came home and crashed for 3 hours afterward! : )

Sad News

Last Tuesday, Bruce Caldera died. Very sad. He was delivering flowers for the flower shop that he worked at, and he crashed his van into a pick-up truck, head-on, perhaps after having a heart attack. The driver of the truck was not injured (or at least not severely, since he was able to walk around at the scene).

I wish I could have known Bruce. He sounds like SUCH a wonderful guy. Below, I am going to list some of the wonderful things that some people said about him on various places, such as The News Enterprise newspaper comments section, his obituary, and his Facebook Memorial page.

I was totally impressed and blown away by what was said about him, and I can only hope that one day, I can be as good of a person.

Here's the glowing list of comments about him:

"He instilled confidence." "He made people believe that they could accomplish anything that they set their mind to." "He was a great father, father-in-law and grandfather." "He was a prodigiously talented man." "He was loving and generous -- a professional."

-- had a positive outlook -- positive energy -- optimistic -- an elegant gentleman -- had an inherent good nature -- made people feel welcome and appreciated -- had a gentle manner and a warm smile.

-- genuine and caring.

One person said, "Anytime I interacted with Bruce, I felt like no one else mattered to him but me."

"He never met a stranger." He treated everyone as if they had been life-long friends."

"He was a 'needle in a haystack'. You could tell he was just operating on a different level."

"There was something intangible and magical about the way he conducted himself."

"He was very enthusiastic about life!" "He could make anyone's bad day vanish."

"He helped out with the Red Cross Disaster Emergency Services team for years."

"His passion was bringing out the best in others. He worked with the Youth Theater, and his mother-in-law was his best friend."

Those are some of the comments that people said about him. The list goes on and on. And on!

What a nice trail to leave behind. : )

YES! I AM Alive! : )

What has been keeping me so busy, you ask?!

Well -- It all started last weekend! Friday I ran around to two different Goodwill stores, looking for THE perfect outfit for my "rock band member" costume. With God's help, I was successful!

(Sorry for leaving out a bunch of details here -- I'm still on a time crunch! We're going to a Production Seminar class tonight!)

OK -- Then, Saturday morning, I got up and curled my hair with my soft plastic hot rollers! Wow, that took forever! And Ever! I had 14 curlers, and needed more like 40! So -- I'd heat up the curlers, put them in one section of my hair, take them out, put them back into the curler heater thing, let them sit for 30 minutes, then take them out, curl some more hair, put them back in the heater thing for 30 minutes, take them out and curl more hair, etc...

While doing my hair, I also needed to make and eat breakfast and lunch for me and my sweetie!

At 1:30, we left for a TV Toastmasters thing where I got my first chance to run the soundboard!

My curlers were still in my hair, so I took them out on our way there. : ) Then, I sprayed the curls and did not comb them out.

Yes, I looked like Shirley Temple, but I wanted to leave in the curls so they'd last longer.

I enjoyed running the board for the show, which will be aired on a cable TV show for a month! I made about 4 mistakes, but other than that, I enjoyed it and learned a lot! : )

Then, at 5 p.m., we zoomed back home, and I changed clothes into my costume, and I "picked" my hair out with my pick "comb", sprayed my hair with tons of hair spray, I put make-up on and went to the party!

It was fun!

Time warp to this past Sunday --

I baked cookies and we took some to one of our neighbors.

Then Monday morning, what did we find near our front door?? A Kitchen Aid MIXER!!! Yes! A nice, expensive mixer, which obviously hadn't been opened yet, and had been sitting on someone's shelf for a while. There was no note, but we're guessing it is from our neighbor who we gave the chocolate chip cookies to! Fair trade, don't you think?! : ) Ha ha! Cookies for a mixer?!

Monday at 1 p.m, I played for a funeral of an elderly lady in our Ward. It went well. But the Funeral Home's heat wasn't working, so it was FREEZING cold in there! Just perfect weather for the dead, but not so perfect weather for the living! : )

Monday night, we went to our 2nd Studio Production class! : ) Yay! We learned TONS more stuff!

Tuesday I dropped my sweetie off at work and then at 11 a.m., I went to a lady's house who is looking for a "Nanny" to help her with her twins. We'll see if she "hires" me. It'll be just 3 days a week for a few hours a day.

Then I came home and took a nap! Then ate something and went to work that night.

Today, I got up, read some scriptures, ate breakfast and lunch, and then prepared the piano lesson for my one student, and then he came, learned and left! ; )

NOW -- I finally have some freeeeeeee time!!!!!!!!! Yay!

That's what's been going on here!

Tonight, we'll be going to that production class. Tomorrow, I'll be taking dinner to a lady in our ward who won the item I "auctioned-off" at a Relief Society Service Auction night.

Friday, I'll be playing the piano with the staff at an Ensemble night that the music school is going to be having east of downtown! It should be fun! Lots of the students will be playing, too!

That's it for now!

Have a good day!

PAINT

I'm going to head to Home Depot here in a minute to look at paint colors. My husband's Mom and two sisters are coming down for Thanksgiving, and they're going to bring a couple of buckets of paint with them to paint "a room of our choice"! : ) The room we're going to have them paint is our bedroom. It's a mustard yellow color, and I don't particularly like it -- at all.

I was at the Fred Meyer store today, and I looked at some of the curtains they had for sale, and I liked the deep, velvety purple colors, so I'm thinking that we should get a color that would go with that. Perhaps a light gray or light purple or a light purple-ie gray color would work.

We won't be buying any curtains any time soon, but down the road, if we got them, then they would go nicely with the color on the wall. : )

So -- I'm off!

Have a good day!

I'm Teaching Piano Lessons!

Howdy!

I'm teaching piano lessons to a friend's kid! : ) I think he's 10. Maybe he's almost 11. Anyway -- it's fun! I enjoy teaching piano! I'm learning a bunch of new stuff, too!

Did you know that there are MORE than just the Major and Minor Scales??? I didn't! Until this week! There are 8 more types of scales, including the Mixolydian, Dorian and Lydian scales! For the C Mixolydian scale, it's like the regular C scale, except instead of regular B, you play B Flat. For the C Dorian scale, you play E Flat and B Flat instead of the regular E and B! For the C Lydian scale, you play F Sharp instead of the regular F! Try that on the ol' piano and see what it sounds like! There's also a Blues scale! For the C Blues scale, you skip the D and the A, and you play C, E Flat, F, G Flat (which is F Sharp), G, B Flat and C! : ) It sounds JUST like a blues song! Very cool stuff there!

Oh! Our Realtor had her baby last week! A little girl! She's so cute! Of COURSE she's CUTE! She's Indian (from India)! And ALL Indian babies are cute!!! : )

My son will have an interview with Microsoft next Friday! It's for a full-time job in either Seattle or New York, after he graduates in May! I'm excited for him! I hope he gets one of the two jobs! He really wants to work for Microsoft, and he has interviewed with them several times before! : ) At least he has had LOTS of practice up to now, and knows what to expect, and will hopefully be prepared enough to nail the interview!!!! : )

Is that it??

Ummmmmm..................

Well -- On a personal note -- I wish I was more of a reader. There are SO many good books out there to read, and I have bought several of the ones that I WANT to read one day! I hope to one day be more of a reader. I CAN do it!!!! : ) I'm going to think positive here! And after I start reading the books, you'll be able to hear ALL about them on here! I'll give reports and everything! : )

One of my sisters is visiting my other sister right now! I wish I were there to visit, too! They each have 3 kids, so that's SIX kids all together when they get together! : ) I hope they have a fabulous time playing and having fun! It's good for cousins to be able to see each other. I wish I knew my cousins and Aunts and Uncles better.

I think that's it now. : )

Have a good day!

Wednesday, September 9, 2009

Wow! We're IN! Now back to regular life!

Yep. We're finally IN the house! The Comtoopers, conpoopers, mamboopers, I cannot even THINK straight! The COMPUTERS are both hooked up and running! : ) That's what I was trying to type, and my fingers just weren't typing the word computer!!! : )

I need a LONG vacation at a nut house, or an "Ommmm" camp! I'm just frazzled and hazzled!

I've been on the comtooter all morning, just to make the day go by!

I've been dizzy, etc. I just need to SLOW DOWN in my head!

The good news is that I got a job! It's at a music school, and I'm only working VERY part time right now! This month, I'll be working either one or two days a week, and then next month, and from then on, two days week. It's been fun so far. I work at the front desk, and I get to hear all of the kids learning and singing! Hopefully, down the road, I'll be able to teach some music classes there as well! That's the plan, at least! : )

Well -- I'm just chillin' today. No brain left for anything else.

Have a good day!!

Got House/Going Nuts

Plumber came yesterday! Exterminator today! Piano mover tomorrow! Carpet cleaner Tuesday! All big items to be moved next Saturday!

There have been various "glitches" all along the way, but in the end, everything has been working out. : )

We're just a couple more weeks away from being totally in the house!

Lots yet to do.

Gotta run! Bye! Have a good day!

Tuesday, July 28, 2009

So You Want to Buy a House, eh?????????

DON'T DO IT!!!!!!!!!!! : )

OK -- maybe I'll feel differently a year down the road. We'll see! : )

Right now, we're in the final stretch. This week is IT!

This is IT!

Did I mention -- This is IT!

It's Tuesday. We'll be signing the final papers either tomorrow or the next day. Then Friday, we'll get "THE KEYS"!

Please pray for us!

We're pretty much going wacko, but we're trying to smile and hold it together!

Gotta run!

Have a good day!

And Congrats to Matt and Sarah on their new arrival!!!!! : ) Yay!

Coconut Cream Pie and MJ

It's been TWO WEEKS since my last confession! : ) Ha ha! : )

OK -- Actually, I confess -- it's been two weeks since I last wrote in here, AND in my journal! I've got a LOT of catching up to do!

So -- I DID make that coconut cream pie -- AND brownies! : ) Both turned out really good! But the brownies took a LOT less time to make than the pie did!

And with the pie, it almost turned out to be a vanilla cream pie, (I know -- all of you Facebook people have already heard the story.....) -- because I forgot to add the coconut to the pie filling! But I remembered JUST in time! I was about to seal the meringue on the pie, and I remembered about the coconut! So I quickly took all of the meringue off of the pie, and put a cup of coconut into the filling, stirred it around and then put the meringue back on. Phew!

It turned out wonderful! And so yummy!

But making a coconut cream pie (for me) took THREE HOURS! Why? I don't know -- there was a lot to do! I had to keep flipping back and forth on the pages. I used one recipe to make the crust. One recipe for the filling. One recipe for the meringue! And with the filling and the meringue, I had to use a "variation" of the recipe, which was BELOW the original recipe! So that's why I forgot to add the coconut! The vanilla cream filling doesn't call for coconut -- obviously! So I didn't put it in! : )

Let's see -- Um.... Yes -- This past Tuesday was the memorial service for Michael Jackson! It was really good. I'm really glad I was able to watch it at my friend's house! Thanks, A! : ) I took lots of notes about the service.

(This part of my post is mainly for me, so I can remember what happened!) : )

Lionel Richie sang a song called, "Jesus is Love". Very pretty.

Berry Gordy spoke. He was the founder of Motown. He spoke of Michael's "knowingness" -- being special and beyond his years.

He said that MJ's first four albums were number 1! : ) And that when the Gordy's played against the Jacksons at baseball, the Jacksons normally won!

He said that in 1983, after the "Billie Jean" solo at the 25th Anniversary show, that MJ "went into orbit".

He said that MJ made some "questionable decisions", and I thought, "Doesn't everyone make 'questionable decisions'?!". And "A" pointed out -- "....yeah -- they're just not made public!". Good point, "A"!

He mentioned that off-stage, MJ was "soft-spoken and child-like". (Editor's note: And while I was doing more research recently, I heard a former photographer of MJ's say that once the music starts, "...everything changes...". : )

I agree with Mr. Gordy that MJ is [one of] the greatest entertainers that ever lived. (or at least that we know about)

He got a standing ovation for that statement.

MJ's brothers all wore yellow ties and a sequined glove. : )

John Mayer played a very cool guitar solo of "Human Nature".

Brooke Shields spoke. She said some great things. She talked about laughter, the "glove", a flame on a lamp and "...the most important part [of a person] is invisible." Look with your heart, not your eyes. Eyes are blind.

Jermaine Jackson sang, "Smile".

Martin Luther King's 2 children spoke. The daughter said that Michael called their Mom when she was dying with cancer and said he had been on his knees praying for her, and he asked if she had music playing in her room, because it has a calming affect.

Usher sang, "Gone Too Soon". And he walked up and touched MJ's casket.

Marlin asked MJ for one thing -- to give his twin brother a hug. So apparently, he had a twin brother that died. I did not know that.

Paris, MJ's daughter, spoke. She said, "Ever since I was born, Daddy was the best Father you could ever imagine..."

Then the arena darkened and a spotlight shone on the microphone for a few minutes. I thought that was a great idea -- to emphasize that he was gone, and that there was no more music coming from him.

During the whole memorial, except for a few times when someone cried out, "Michael, we love you!", it was quiet. Everyone showed the family lots of respect.

Well.........

So -- FIVE celebrities have died in the last week! First, Ed McMahon, then Farrah Fawcett (62) and Michael Jackson (50) -- both on the same day -- And then yesterday, Gail Storm (a 50's actress) died, and this morning, Billy Mays (Mr. Oxy Clean guy) (also 50 yrs. old) died. Wow.

Tomorrow is the day that the appraisal of "our house" should be done by. Then it'll take him 2-3 days to write up the report. Then he'll send it to our Mortgage Broker, who will then send it to us. Then we'll write up an addendum to the contract that says all of the things that need to be fixed, plus the new closing date.

Then if the seller signs it, we should be on our way to getting the house. : )

I everything works right, we'll be able to start doing our own fixing of certain house issues as of July 31st.

Then after some major things are taken care of, then we'll start moving stuff in by around August 15th, and be all moved in by the end of August.

That's the plan, at least! We'll see how it all plays out!

I'll continue to keep you posted!

Now I think I'll go make something yummy! I want to make brownies for my sweetie, but I also want to make some coconut cream pie for me! : ) Maybe I'll make both! : )

Have a good day!

What will the Verdict Be???

The appraisal hasn't been done yet, and WON'T be done until the seller signs the addendum saying that they'll fix everything that the appraiser says needs to be fixed.

Will the seller decide -- no way -- we're not gonna sign the addendum?

Or will they sign it?!

We'll soon find out!

Maybe this week.

If they say that they're not going to sign the addendum, then the deal's off.

Stay tuned for the exciting new developments to come! : )

Still No Appraisal Done Yet

This note is basically just for future reference, so I can know what was going on at this time. : )

No appraisal has been done on our house yet -- OH yeah! I just remembered -- Our realtor put a hold on the appraisal to be done because there's some sort of thing that is going to push the "closing date" out to July 31st. So -- our realtor wants the bank (i.e. seller) to "OK" that FIRST, and THEN, the appraisal will be done. So -- I guess we're just waiting on the bank to sign the new "addendum".

After the appraisal is done, then we'll send a note to the bank to tell them that the appraiser said that they need to fix whatever the appraiser says needs fixed.

Then if they sign THAT addendum, then we'll just have to wait for them to fix everything that needs to be fixed.

THEN, I suppose the work will be checked, and then we'll just wait for the closing date, I believe.

I guess that's all for now!

Have a good day!

My Husband's Funny Sayings....

I already posted one of my husband's funny sayings on my Facebook page -- about the car next to us playing loud rap music -- I had said, "Bye-bye rap guy!", and Kyle said, "No! It's BUH buh buh BYE......BUH buh buh BYE!". : )

Last night, we had some fish (with bones in it), and as he was picking out the bones, he said, "This is probably where the saying, "BONE" appetite came from!" : )

Today, as we were driving around, he saw the sign, "DOUBLE Fine for Speeding", and he said, "That doesn't mean that it's DOUBLE-y O.K. to speed!". : )

He's on a ROLL!!!!!!!! : )

Howdy!

So -- let's see.........

It's been a week since we paid the money for an appraiser to appraise our house. Maybe it's taking him or her so long since there are so many things wrong with the house!! Maybe they had to camp-out there all week, and they'll be writing up the report this weekend!

After the appraisal is done, we'll turn in the list of items to be fixed to the bank, who will have to fix them before we can have the house. And after that, there are only a few more things to do before we can seal the deal!

For now, we're just sitting here twiddling our thumbs -- waiting for the next thing to be done!

I might be getting a job through Kelly Services. I should find out Monday if the company will want me to go work for them or not. I'll keep you posted on that! If I DO get the job, it might be a few weeks before I actually get back on here to tell you about it, since I'll be so busy working!

Have a good day!

The Purple Room -- My FIRST posted picture!

Cool color, eh?!!! This is one of the rooms in the house we're working on getting! : ) I like the color of this room.

This is my FIRST posted picture!!! I'm trying it out to see how it'll post!

Here we go!!!!!!........................

Our Offer was Accepted on the House we want!

So -- my husband is wanting to know what colors I want to paint over the RED and ORANGE walls! So I came here to look at the different colors that are on the "text color" pallet! : ) That's all I'm here for right now!!!

Later Gator! : )

I'm back! (after about an hour of looking at a wide range of colors!)

I'm leaning toward a DARK pink, or a soft, pastel pink, or a variety of shades of gray. Maybe a light tan or light brown.

We had fun trying out different things on the computer! We put a dark, dark blue up on the wall, and then put big, bright, yellow, glowing STARS all over the wall! That looked cool!

Also -- we kept the orange, and Kyle took a squared cross shape, where each end came to a point, and he dipped it in white "paint", and put that all over the wall, over-lapping each other, and that looked cool!

We painted the wall black, and a dark gray -- yuck!

We tried bright greens, turquoise blue-green and various shades of purples and blues.

Fun stuff!

But we're both "all funned-out" right now!

We'll play around with the colors another day!

We're done for now!

Bye!

WHAZ UP?!

This is whaz up! : )

We're house-hunting!

What FUN!

What JOY!

I'll be really glad when the right one comes along, and we're able to buy it!!!!!!

Until then -- I'll just sing the song, "Buying a house is fun to do....fun to do....to do, to do!"

My son sent me his grades for this past semester! FOUR "A"s and a "B"! : ) Yay!!!!! That was four computer classes and a music class. He got an "A" in his music class! : ) He's got only one more year of college to go, and he'll be graduating with a Master's degree!

What else............

Um -- I fell yesterday! BAM! Right into the post that holds up the "carport" thing here at our apartments. It was as if someone pushed me real hard into the post, too! I don't know exactly how it all happened, since it happened so fast. I was just going around the big ol' white truck that is parked next to our car, and I fell into the post. Now I have a big ol' bruise on my left upper-arm, and some other aches and pains in other places. But I don't think I broke anything.

I think that's all for now!

Have a good day everyone! : )

How to Blanch Broccoli!!!!!

Hey there, folks!

I bought some broccoli a few days ago, and today, I thought -- I'd better eat it and freeze it so that it doesn't go bad!!!

So -- I "Googled" "how to blanch broccoli", and I found someone's blog with how to do it!

So -- if you want to know how to do it, go to: http://mommylovestosing.blogspot.com/2008/10/how-to-blanch-broccoli.html

and you will be able to blanch your broccoli, too! : )

I loved the comment that someone left below her instructions -- they said that she heard that in order to get all of the air out of the bag, you should use a straw to suck all of the air out! I tried it, and it worked!

I've never blanched anything before, so I was very proud of myself for doing it! I felt like someone who actually knew what they were doing!

Enjoy your broccoli!! : )

Toastmasters, The Play, and Our House!

OK -- so....last Thursday, my husband was in a Toastmaster speech contest! He didn't win, but he did a great job! : ) I was glad that his Mom was here to hear his speech!!! : )

Then last Saturday was the play! AND our 11th Wedding Anniversary! : ) Yay!

It went well. It was a busy day. I was the prompter, so I didn't have much pressure on me, but everyone else had to get their make-up on, their costumes on and all of that. I took pictures while people were getting made-up. Everyone looked great!

We did two shows -- one for the kids at 4 p.m., and one for the adults at 7:30 p.m. Both went well! And in-between the two shows, we ate dinner and talked about the previous performance! It was fun laughing and making cracks about what people did or didn't do!

After the show, we had cake to celebrate one of the cast member's birthdays! Yummm! It was good cake!

And then, it was all over with.......

Now, we're looking to buy a house, and we're experiencing all of the fun ups and downs that come with the afore-mentioned activity! : )

We hope we're able to get it! I read in the scriptures today that Jesus said that if you believe that it will happen, it will happen, and that nothing is impossible for God!! So I believe it will all work out in our favor! I believe that the "impossible" will be made possible! : )

I think that's all for now......

Have a good day!

The Talent Show!

So! This past Saturday night, we were in the Stake Talent Show! My husband told a little story about getting "help" from the Verizon "help" line! And I played the piano! First I did a little bit of juggling! Then I sang the "Me, me, me, me" scales -- two by myself, and 3 scales with the audience! It was fun! I wish I could have been in the audience to see it! We were going to have it video-taped, but that didn't work out. That's OK. Stuff happens like that sometimes.

I planned my outfit WEEKS in advance! And I was constantly getting inspiration about what do and get -- all the way up to the end, before my performance! I didn't check what I wrote about it previously, so maybe I should check and see. I'll be right back! Oh! That's right! I didn't say much, since I wanted it to be a surprise! : ) Ha!

So -- I found my black blouse and my blue pants at the Goodwill store! The blouse is what determined the rest of my outfit! At first, I wanted a blouse with those long dangly ends at the end of the sleeves. But the FIRST blouse that I found was the black one that I ended up wearing. And I liked it, but I thought that if I kept looking, that I might find one with dangly sleeves! So I kept looking, and I found a couple of blouses with the dangly sleeves, but I really didn't like the designs or colors of the blouses, and they didn't really fit anyway. So I kept looking.

Then, since I couldn't find anything, I decided to go ahead and buy the black blouse. I'm glad I did, because even though it didn't have the dangly sleeves, it was the best choice! And it laid the ground-work for the rest of the whole outfit! As always, Heavenly Father knew what He was doing when He didn't let me find a "dangly sleeve" blouse!!!

This is a LONG story!! I'm only at the blouse part, and I've got so much more to tell!!!

So -- on a different day, I went back and found the blue pants! I was pretty excited about finding them! I thought they'd give a "fun" look to my outfit! So after I bought them, I took them to the dry cleaners and had them cleaned! : )

Then, I got the inspiration for a long sash! I thought that would be PERFECT!!!! I didn't go shopping around at various stores for one that was already made, because I knew that it might take FOREVER to find JUST what I was looking for!

So I went to JoAnn's fabric store to find some material, because I KNEW that there would be SOMETHING there that I could use! Well -- first, I found a black bolt and a blue bolt of material, and put them in my cart so that I could use them to check and see if the material I found would go with it. At first, I had planned to get a very multi-colored material -- something bright, with lots of colors. But I didn't find anything that fit exactly right.

So I went over to the "reject" section! And I found a BEAUTIFUL, shimmery light-green material, and I LOVED it!!!!! It wouldn't go with my blue pants, but it would go GREAT with a black blouse and black pants! So I stuck it in my basket! It was only $3.00 per yard!!! YES!

Then, I found a YELLOW material, and it was PERFECT!!!! But then, I looked at the price per yard, and my excitement diminished. : ( It was NINE dollars a yard! : ( Hmmmmmm. What was I going to DO?!!!! But then, like a light from above, I looked a the sign above the material rack, and it said, "50% off!". WOW! Cool! I can get it then!!!! : ) YAY!!!!!! And that's the one I decided to use for my outfit.

A few days later, when I felt like it, I decided to finally make the first cut into the yellow material. But it took FOREVER for me to decide exactly how to cut it! I drew a few pictures, I pinned it up. I puzzled and puzzled and puzzled! And finally, I decided what I wanted to do, and I cut it and then tied it around my waist! PERFECT!

I didn't want to have to sew the edges, but the yellow fuzz was too much! It was getting all over my blue pants when I was "rehearsing" my skit and song! So -- I had to resort to sewing both sides! But I left the bottom un-touched, because if I would have sewn it, it wouldn't have looked as flowy as I wanted it to! : )

I really don't think I have the time to tell EVERY SINGLE story that goes with every single item that I got for my outfit!!!

But I'll try to condense it here! I found the necklace at Target, and the earrings and colorful hair-piece thing at Claire's, at Cedar Hill Crossing! I was going to use yellow eye shadow, but it didn't look right. I was going to use brushes to brush on the make-up, but it made the color go "bye-bye"! I'm guessing that brushes work best with cream eye make-up, or if you want a very powdery look! So I used my regular applicators!

I did a "dress-rehearsal" with make-up and my outfit on Thursday. I'm glad I did that! It gave me an idea of how long it would take to do everything! And it helped me decide what I didn't want to do! It helped me decide to sew up the sash, put on MORE blue make-up, and more black, and extra lines! It also helped me decide that I DIDN'T want to wear my hair down in a ponytail, and that I wanted it UP in a bun! : )

I was nervous and worried about stuff that week and that morning, but I did a lot of praying and reflecting on why I was feeling certain feelings, and I was inspired with lots of helpful positive thoughts. I realized that if I only think positive thoughts, that the negative thoughts have no where to stay. They leave. I also had to remember to breathe slowly, and not to hold my breath!

It went well, and I'm glad I did it! I'm also glad it's over!!

My favorite performance that night was a young teenage girl who danced a ballet/free-style dance. It was beautiful! Very impressive and elegant. I loved it! She did such a great job!

Well -- the play is this Saturday! I think it will be fun! : ) Practice is tonight! And then just a few more practices and we're on! : ) I'm the prompter. : )

More later! : ) Have a good day!

Last Week and This Week

Hey! I just wanted to document a few things here!

Last Tuesday, my husband won FIRST PLACE at a Toastmaster contest! He did a great job telling a story about calling a "HELP" line and being on the phone for hours, and then then, right near the end of the phone call, they told him they would need to "un-do" everything they had just done, and then they just did a few simple things, and VWALA! He was hooked up! Craziness!

Last Friday, we went to Multnomah Falls!

It is SO pretty there! I didn't even really want to go, but my husband wanted to go, so I went with him.

I was happy that I went, even though it took forever to get to the top and back down!

It was worth it at the top where the river is! It's beautiful!

This Saturday, I'm going to be in a Stake Talent Show! I'm getting ready for it -- practicing and picking out my outfit. : ) I'm looking forward to doing it.........and then it being over! : )

It should be fun. : ) I'm also looking forward to seeing everyone else's talents! There will be artwork as well as performances!

Well -- gotta git goin'! Have a good day!

My Uncle

Yes, my Uncle died yesterday. But it's for the best, since his injuries were so horrible.

Wednesday, March 18, 2009

But on a Brighter Note.... : )

I am SO excited! AGAIN!

Now, I have THREE -- count 'em THREE followers!!! Thanks, B's!!! : )

What's going on here?

Well -- My husband is in a play, and I'm the "prompter". It's going well so far.

And this Saturday, I'm gonna audition for a talent show that our Stake is putting on! : ) Yippee!!!

I'm trying to come up with a few strategies to conquer any fear that might try to squelsh my desire to perform in front of a couple of hundred people that I don't know -- some of whom might not like me and wish me "ill"! : )

I'm practicing a few songs on the piano -- one with words and 3 without. I actually hope she chooses the one with words. It's called, "My Cup Runneth Over", from "I Do, I Do", which I've never seen. I've never heard the song before, either! And I really like it!! : ) It's very pretty!

Next week, we're going to an old-roommate of mine's son's missionary farewell. : )

Then next month, we'll be going to a wedding.

After that, is the talent show, and after that is the play!!! : )

Busy, busy, busy! : )

Sad News Today

Sad news to report today.

My Uncle was in a really bad truck accident on Sunday, in his new truck, and he's either at death's door, or has already gone through it. I don't know. They were gonna pull all of the life support today.

So I'm waiting to hear if he died, or if he's still hanging on.

I, AGAIN, am SO Excited!

I was just given permission to post a link to a REALLY well-written blog of a friend of mine!

Go to my Facebook page, and you'll see where to go! : )

It's about him joining Facebook! : )

Very funny!

I liked it!

I'm So Excited!!!

I have TWO followers now!!! Yay! Thanks P!

How exciting! : )

Ya' know -- those stupid changes on FACEBOOK are making me Grrrrrrrr -- not happy!

But -- I guess I'll live with it for now.

Well -- Ummmmm -- I guess that's about it for now!

I'm excited to have TWO followers! Welcome to A & P! : ) (Sounds like a store!) : )

Thursday, March 12, 2009

I can't believe I have ONE follower!!! : ) Thanks, A.!! : )

Now I feel pressure to be wonderful!!!!

Before now, I was just babbling about nonsense. Now, I might need to actually make some sense!

Great! The price of being famous I guess! : )

Well -- what's going on here???

Uh -- last night and this morning, I highlighted ALL of the "actor's instructions" in the play that I'm going to be the "prompter" for! At first, I was going to highlight all of the actor's lines, but the yellow highlighter didn't show up very well, and if I'm going to be trying to read it in the dark, I'd never see it! So I highlighted JUST the instructions with a PINK highlighter! And I think that'll work much better!

Today, I read a fellow blogger's blog from March 9th, and I thought he did SUCH an excellent job of writing, that I asked him if I can copy it and put it on my Facebook page! I hope he says "YES"! : ) It's pretty funny!

Today, I also looked at my sister's blog, and saw a bunch of pictures from when they went out to a fun place for my Mom's birthday! All of the grandkids who live near my parents were able to go! It looked like they had a fun time rock-climbing, sliding, etc.! I think it's great that they live near my parents so that they can get taken out for dinners and taken to fun places!

Ummmmmm........what else?

I'm glad that I was able to mail off our tax info. for my sweetie's Dad to do for us! We ought to be swimming in green soon! : )

I hope to get a part-time job soon. I understand the concept that one must "look", in order to "find", but I'm working slowly at it! : )

I don't come here too often, since I have my Facebook page to keep up with, but I guess I still want to come here every now and then and just blab. I can't do that on my Facebook page. People actually READ that stuff! Here, I'm like hidden away in a cave where nobody ever comes, and I can just talk to myself and write my thoughts on things without ever worrying about what people might think! : )

Well -- I think that's it for now. TTFN! (Ta-ta for now!) : )

Monday, March 2, 2009

Hi! I have been Facebooking now for a couple of months, and I love it! It's just so great!

That's why I haven't been putting anything here. But I think I still want to update this every now and then!

My sister has really kept up with her blog, and I need to check it out! I'm way behind, and there's tons to look at now on her blog!

Gotta run!

Bye!

Thursday, January 8, 2009

Hey there, people!

So -- It's a NEW year! 2009! Yay!

Things I want to do this year:

GET A JOB! Preferably somewhere that I LOVE working at! Where there are VERY nice people. Some people in my "Networking Group" have said, "Define nice". OK, people -- if you don't know what a NICE person is, then you need assistance from someone else besides me!

Second, I'd like to lose a lot of weight and get fit, with the help of my Total Gym!!

Third, I'd like to actually mail off some Christmas cards this year! I e-mailed a "Christmas Letter" with some pictures "last" year, but it's just not the same....

I'll start with those three things, and maybe add more down the road! I think that's a good start! : )
